Tribute to Lady Victoria Ayogu By Onyedikachi Eze

We gather today to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose kindness, strength, wisdom, support, and unwavering love touched us all. Lady Victoria was a beacon of light and happiness to everyone that had the privilege of knowing her, myself inclusive.

Dee Mama, as I fondly call her, was one of the most inspiring, thoughtful and caring person I had the honour and pleasure of knowing, she epitomized  motherhood and the virtuous woman, as referenced in the Bible. Her love and guidance was instrumental to the good upbringing I and my friend have today.

Her laughter was infectious, her smile a balm to hearts, her generous spirit knew no bounds and her wise counsel a solution to all problems. She had a way of making everyone feel special, with her warmth and compassion leaving an indelible mark on every soul that she encounters. Our community and church were closely knitted by the love and wisdom that Dee Mama exudes.

I miss you greatly, Dee Mama, but just as Henry James said, “sorrow comes in great waves…but it rolls over us, and though it may almost smother us, it passes and we remain.” We remain because you have laid the foundation, we remain because you have groomed us well, we remain, Dee Mama because there is a part of you in each and everyone of us, and that part is enough to sustain the legacy of love, peace, generosity, thoughtfulness and good deeds that you have left behind.

We loved you Dee Mama, but God knows the best.

Adieu Lady Victoria Ayogu ,
