De Mama… One of the hardest things for me to do was write this tribute. I was not prepared at all for this shock, but who am I to question God. You were the best mother in-law one could ever have. Your love for your family, friends, church and community at large is worthy of emulation. You were so intentional about your family, and the things of God. Your generosity had no bounds. You were such a blessing to everyone that knew you. You were the pillar that held this family together. A true mother, who would pray for her family, pray for her children individually during devotions. You would call everyone’s name and prayed for their heart desires one by one, and God always answered. Your wisdom is second to none, your advice and positivity kept us going. You were such a mother hen who protected her own with everything you had. Your prayers made way for the family. We never lacked foodstuffs all because of you. You would go out of your way to send oil, garri, okpei, ogbono, fio fio, okpa and lots more, just to make sure we never lacked local delicacies. Who will fill in this vacuum you left? You did not wait for Dubem to grow up and know you well, but I am glad he is here because you wanted him and you at least got to see him and hold him. We will miss hearing your voice, you never missed calling Chinedu every week. Who would set the house up for us during Christmas and made sure everything was ready before we arrived? Only De Mama did this. There was never a dull moment in Okpuje because you. This was not the plan, but God knows best. Heaven has gained an angel indeed. My consolation is that you are with God watching over us. We miss you so much, and have not stopped crying, even as I write these. Your grandchildren, Tochukwu, Dabere, Kamsi, Dubem, myself and your son Chinedu, miss you so much. Mama, ladoore.
